Just arrive a few minutes early if you are new to fill out a short registration form. There will not be any other Group Training Sessions on Black Friday.

KIDS’ TRAINING IS BACK IN NOVEMBER: Whatever your sport . . . We can help enhance performance! If you have a child (age 7-12) who would love an awesome 45-minute workout, then you don’t want to miss our training on Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m. (starting Saturday, November 5th). Our trainer will run them through drills and exercises to enhance performance and improve balance, flexibility and strength. The kids will participate in fun speed & agility drills, as well as learn proper running form, perform timed obstacle courses and more! If you need more info, please call Michael at 908-403-7605.
SENIORS’ TRAINING IS HERE! AND WE ARE SO HAPPY TO HAVE SOME GREAT CLIENTS TRAINING WITH US! SENIORS’ STRENGTH TRAINING (AGES 55-60+) IS HAPPENING EVERY TUESDAY AT 10:00 A.M.! This training session is for men and women who are age 55-60 or older! So think about it . . . When we were young, we needed to exercise to help our bodies develop and grow . . . and once we were grown, it was essential that we continue to exercise to maintain our health and our strength. And then when we hit our 40’s and age 50, we are usually trying to decrease bodyfat for optimal health, as we adjust to a slowing metabolism. By age 55-60, the goal is usually to remain healthy, fit and FUNCTIONAL as we AGAIN deal with a metabolism that is moving even slower. If we had more lean muscle mass on our bodies, we would burn more calories – even at rest – plus, we would LOOK AND FEEL BETTER. And it is so important to incorporate joint integrity work –so that our connective tissue is also strengthened. This not only helps to reduce inflammation and pain, but it also allows us to have a healthier range of motion when performing day-to-day activities. In this 55-minute training session, participants will be guided through a safe and effective workout that starts with a gentle warm-up, followed by resistance band work, balance and core training, and weight training to help improve strength as well as bone density. The session finishes off with wonderful stretches to elongate the muscles. This group training session is for beginners, as well as those that are already fit. Variations to exercises will be offered based on participant’s abilities. During this training session, participants will use weighted equipment such as dumbbells, machines, bands and medicine balls — and they will also use slide boards, balance pads and lots of other fun equipment. Complimentary nutritional handouts will be provided since we definitely want to make sure all participants are coupling their exercise routine with healthy eating. RECIPE: Moroccan Chicken
This is one I’ve shared with my clients, and it is always a CROWD FAVORITE! CLICK HERE TO PRINT RECIPE. I just recently posted this on Facebook, and I got so many requests for the recipe that I thought I would share it in our newsletter too. Here are the ingredients you would marinate in a Tupperware container overnight – and then cook on your grill or even bake in the oven (I love it on the grill!):
– 1/2 cup extra Virgin olive oil
– 1/4 cup chopped scallions
– 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
– 1/4 cup chopped parsley
– 1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
– 2 teaspoons paprika
– 2 teaspoons ground cumin
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
+ 1 package (about 1 pound) of boneless, skinless chicken breasts

VIRTUAL COACHING:
This is the latest way people are setting and reaching their fitness goals – especially if they don’t live close to !MPACT Training. The first 1-hour session via phone with Hillarie is a great way for the client to outline his/her fitness goals and set up their plan of attack . . . whether it be weight-loss via a nutritional plan; improved energy levels; building muscle while decreasing bodyfat to get leaner and stronger; or receiving workout programs (via email) to do on your own so you get the results you are looking for. Maybe you just need that motivation, knowing you are being held accountable to an expert in this field – as that helps so many of us stay on track. Your program can also be a combination of nutritional & dietary guidance along with exercise counseling on what might be best for you to be doing on your own — and you will actually small have homework assignments depending on your goals. As part of the initial session, Hillarie will email you some nutritional info and general fitness handouts that you will go over on your initial call so you have a good idea of what is expected of you in the weeks ahead. If you are interested in weight-loss, you will be emailed a blank food log & exercise log which you will complete and email back to Hillarie on a weekly basis (prior to your scheduled call). After the initial 1-hour session, the next 5 weeks will be 30-minute sessions (via phone) to go over your food log — to talk about any obstacles or barriers you may have incurred — to talk about your exercise log and receive helpful corrections as needed — and to get inspired for the week ahead. It’s really hard to do it alone, especially when your life is busy with so many other things. BIG SHOUT OUT TO MY TEAM MATE, KRYSTAL . . . At first glance Krystal (pictured above) thought maybe she couldn’t afford it. But then she reconsidered… how could she NOT afford not to get back her health and better energy levels!! PAYING-IT-FORWARD:
SWEAT ANGELS & !MPACT TRAINING: We found another way to give back . . . Every month there is a different cause. During October, for every 3 Facebook “check-ins”, three women are provided with a FREE breast & ovarian cancer risk assessment. In September we were able to donate 784 bowls of food to pets in shelters – in August we donated bricks to build a school – and in July we donated 12,050 gallons of clean water to those in need. Isn’t that amazing! So how are we doing all these good deeds? We partnered with Sweat Angels, a company that links with fitness businesses to provide necessary things for those in need, and every month there is a different cause . . . It’s a monthly contribution to Sweat Angels from !MPACT that makes us feel good! We will keep you posted on next month’s charity . . . It’s fun giving to different causes every month, and makes us feel great about helping others.

WE DO TURF RENTALS!: We are starting to get quite a few requests from teams to rent our spacious indoor turf field . . . It’s the perfect space for athletes and sports teams to do their indoor training. In our 4800 sq. ft. facility we offer a 20 x 18 yard turf area that has a state-of-the-art plyometric cushioning beneath the turf, in addition to high ceilings — so we are able to offer athletes & teams a safe and spacious area to train or practice. This is also perfect for teams who need to do an indoor “walk-thru” practice or any other kind of team-building event or get-together (i.e. end-of-season parties). Rates are extremely reasonable. Can you believe it is almost November? Before you know it, we are into Thanksgiving weekend – and a great time to remember all that we are thankful for. The fall is always a great time for change – and as the leaves change colors and fall off the trees, it is a great reminder that change won’t kill us. The trees come back to life – even more beautiful every spring. So many of us resist change (myself included sometimes).
