FREE IN-BODY SERVICE AT !MPACT!!  This is a service that many local gyms and fitness facilities charge $40 per tracking session . . .and we are offering it for FREE at !MPACT Training to ALL of our clients!  This hospital-grade piece of equipment is 98% accurate, and it doesn’t just measure your “weight” but more importantly it measures your BODY COMPOSITION (lean muscle and body fat, in addition to hydration and more)!  And you receive a comprehensive print-out with all the data from your In-Body weigh-in, so we can use it to create a game plan for outlining your health and fitness goals based on your results . . . !MPACT TRAINING NOW OFFERS MASSAGE THERAPY!  Please help me welcome Patricia Fitzpatrick (pictured above), Licensed Massage Therapist to !MPACT Training. So many of our clients have issues with various muscles or joints – whether it be lower back, shoulders, hips, hamstrings, etc.  Massage, as a therapy, is a holistic approach for your body/muscles to heal. WHAT ARE OUR !MPACT UNLIMITED BOOTCAMPS ALL ABOUTThey are a great workout, no matter your age or fitness level.  We offer bootcamps for adults and teens (ages 13+), and we offer variations to the exercises so that we meet you WHERE YOU ARE.  Injury prevention is our top priority, and we have a darn good time at our bootcamps too!  The groups are not large, and everyone is spaced out with a cone (10 ft. apart).  Each participant sets up their station with the dumbbells and other equipment the trainer outlines for the group.  Then the fun begins . . . the trainer demonstrates each exercise, with a variation for those who need it.  The workout is 45-minutes long, and we also offer Virtual Unlimited Bootcamps for those who prefer to do them at home via Zoom.  Below you will see the Unlimited Bootcamp Schedule – and give us a call if you are interested in a FREE TRIAL!  Call Mike 908-403-7605 or Sean 908-240-5660 and we will get you on track for success!  We gotta get moving! #summerbodiesaremadeinthewinter

JR. RAIDERS TRAINING:  !MPACT Training is honored to be the chosen facility for the Hillsborough Jr. Raiders Football Program!  That’s right! We are excited to have been given the opportunity to play a role in the athletic development of these young athletes (grades 3rd through 8th – Fall 2021).  At the present time, based on the number of athletes enrolled, we have allotted specific days and times for these athletes at a specially discounted price for this 8-week program.  But should there be an excess of additional athletes expressing interest in our program, we will do our best to offer additional days and times.  We are taking all appropriate measures to ensure we do not exceed our facility’s capacity at this time, and we are following all CDC Guidelines for Covid19 including masks during training.  If you are friends with a Jr. Raider football family that is not already registered for this program, please feel free to share this contact information:  Sean.impact.training@gmail.com  And if you are not yet registered for the Jr. Raiders Football Program, click here to register from their website:  www.jrraiders.org

Kale & Chickpea Soup – Perfect for Winter!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, cut into medium dice
  • 1 carrot, cut into medium dice
  • 1 large celery stalk, cut into medium dice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ teaspoon hot red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • 1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas, drained
  • 1 bunch fresh kale, stemmed, rinsed, and chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 6 cups chicken (or vegetable) broth
  • ⅔ cup pearl couscous

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat oil over medium-high heat in a Dutch oven or soup kettle. Add onion, carrot, and celery; sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add garlic, chili flakes, thyme, and a sprinkling of salt, and pepper; sauté until fragrant, about a minute.
  3. Add chickpeas and kale; stir to wilt. Add stock; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and add couscous; simmer, partially covered, until tender, about 10 minutes. Serve.

NOTES: This soup can be made and enjoyed in less than 30 minutes, but it’s even better when left to simmer and sit for a while, allowing the flavors to marry. Recipe By: Three Many Cooks — Serves: 4

Whether you want to LOOK better or FEEL better (from a health perspective), it all comes down to proper nutrition and regular exercise.  Remember the saying “Summer bodies are made in the winter” . . . Well it’s winter!  In New Jersey, it’s cold and snowy most of the time in February, but don’t let that deter you from setting some realistic fitness goals. It’s hard to be motivated to train when we would rather stay snuggled at home on the couch.  But we can help!
